I just finished the last book in Marc Greneay’s Gray Man series. The last book in the series is called Burner and is among my favorites.
Marc Greneay’s Gray Man series is one of the most exciting series I have ever read. It tells the story of Court Gentry, a former CIA agent turned mercenary known worldwide as the Gray Man. After being betrayed by his former employers, Gentry is forced to flee to the far corners of the world to survive. The series follows Gentry on his journey as he faces off against assassins, rogue governments, drug lords, and even supernatural creatures.
It is like Mission Impossible on steroids.
Once you start reading the Gray Man series, putting the books down is only possible once you’ve finished the entire series. The books are so well written, and the plot is so gripping that I often found myself reading late into the night, unable to put the book down until I knew what happened next. What I love about Greneay’s writing is that he captures the realism of the characters and their circumstances without sacrificing the entertainment factor. Plus, the stories are incredibly well-researched and usually a reference to historic events (for example, Burner’s background story is the current conflict in Ukraine). It lends another layer of authenticity to the tale.
The series also features a plethora of plot twists and turns, making it impossible to predict what will happen next. The Gray Man series is also filled with moral dilemmas, as Gentry is constantly forced to choose between his own survival and doing the right thing. These moral dilemmas make the books even more enjoyable, as the reader can’t help but ponder what Gentry should do next.
Overall, Marc Greneay’s Gray Man series is exciting and thrilling. From the fast-paced action to the moral dilemmas and the richly detailed world, the Gray Man series is an entertaining and captivating read. Once you start the series, it is hard to put the books down.
The Gray Man series is an incredible adventure that I highly recommend. It’s like discovering a new Harry Potter series, except it’s more grown-up and realistic this time. I’m sure that fans of the series will agree — once you start, you can’t finish.
I am waiting now anxiously for the series to continue.
Until then, I have two other books written by Marc Greaney. 2019’s Red Metal and 2022’s Armored are at the top of my TBR list.
And then, of course, there are all the books from the Tom Clancy series t which he also contributed.
